Troop Treasurer Announcement

Many thanks to our anonymous donor of $750.  Your generosity will provide summer camp scholarships to boys who might not otherwise be able to attend. To Old Goats and other Troop 210 parents, please remember to keep your company matching programs in mind for gifts to the troop.  Since many companies will not match a donation to a religious organization (for example White Plains United Methodist Church), you can still donate to Troop 210 and have it matched by sending your contribution to the address below. The council will forward a check to Troop 210 in their next scheduled check run after they receive the donation.

Eagle project idea‏

Hope all is going well with you, your family, and the troop!

In case someone from the troop is looking for an Eagle Scout idea:  the dog park on Maynard has 2 areas - one for big dogs and one for small
dogs.  The area for big dogs has a nice small shelter (built as an Eagle Scout project) with a picnic table and several benches around the area.
The area for the small dogs has just a single bench.

The owners of the small dogs were wondering how to find a scout to build a shelter on the small dog side and I said I would send an email to
troop 210!

Hope someone is interested!

Thanks,
Linda Schubel

Boys Scouts select new uniform

In case you haven't heard, BSA is changing its uniform design for the first time in over 25 years!

http://www.scoutstuff.org/bsasupply/images/pdfs/BSA_011_broch_AB.pdf

This DOES NOT mean you have to go out and replace your current uniform.  T210 uniform policy is to wear the BSA uniform correctly, whether it is 1 month old, or 45 years old.  It is even noted on the brochure, "each piece transitions to mix and match with your current uniform".  If your son is planning to go to the 2010 National Jamboree, I would expect this new uniform will be required.  But you have plenty of time before you need to purchase.
